The concept for this project came last spring. We had been shipping shirts all across the United States to fraternities and sororities since 2002 and were ready to expand our online offerings. We considered creating a site for youth groups and church organizations or summer camps; two of our strong niches and started researching the competition. There were lots of online stores just like ours (greekt-shirts.com) that offered a collection of original designs that could be modified by request. But we also found a handful of sites that allowed the user to design a shirt right there online in a t-shirt lab. This really got us excited. Some sites were better than others but most were just knock-offs. They were slow and clumsy and left much to be desired. We looked for ways to improve every step of the process. The BlueCotton DesignStudio is the culmination of over one year’s worth of research and development. The tools are more intuitive and interactive than any other t-shirt site out there and by utilizing the latest Flash technology we can offer better tools that are faster and more reliable.
