The rise of the T-shirt Through Film
T-Shirts weren’t always the go-to garment for college kids, stoners, casual fridays, dads, moms, kids, grandparents, runners, walkers, rich people, poor people, cool kids, geeks and just about everyone with a pulse. There was a time when only people in the military or on football teams wore t-shirts. At the dawn of the t-shirt era the light cotton t-shaped shirt was only wear as an undergarment. Movies have played a huge role in moving the t-shirt from underwear to vehicle for self expression, activism, humor and art.
