The roaring success of “Rise of The Planet of the Apes”<\/a> at the weekend Box Office prompted BlueCotton to contact a few celebrity primates for comment.<\/p>\n

“Rise of The Planet of the Apes” raked in $54 million this weekend, outpacing “Captain America: The First Avenger”<\/a> and “The Smurfs.” While we were unable to reach Gargamel or any of The Avengers, we were able to contact several famous primates for their take on the success of “Rise.”<\/p>\n

King Kong<\/a>: “These gorillas nowadays are just too soft. I’m shocked that I didn’t get a call-back after my first audition. When you think of apes taking over the world – who do you think of? Who? I could’ve done the same thing for the Golden Gate Bridge that I did for the Empire State Building. You missed this one, Hollywood. ”<\/p>\n

Curious George:<\/a> “It’s unfortunate that I’ve been typecast as this peaceful, happy, loving creature. You should’ve seen what I did to the Man in the Yellow Hat after that last “Curious George goes to the Veterinarian” episode. Look, I’d have been the perfect Caesar – I’ve never spent time with other chimps either and I’m not happy about it. It’s just me and that Gordon’s Fisherman looking character that keeps following me around.”<\/p>\n

Donkey Kong<\/a>: “It was a decent movie, but there weren’t nearly enough ladders and barrels.”<\/p>\n
