Whereas some people might blanch at the logistics of running an event, you absolutely thrive when it comes to staying on top of your work. It\u2019s directly tied to your mental well being, which itself has a direct impact on productivity. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThere is a physical connection between what the mind is thinking and those parts of the brain that control bodily functions,\u201d <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.everydayhealth.com\/emotional-health\/connecting-dots.aspx\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">writes Madeline Vann of Everyday Health<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. \u201cWhile unhappy or stressed-out thoughts may not directly cause poor physical health, they could be a contributing factor and may explain why one person is suffering physically while someone else is not.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Basically, what we\u2019re saying here is that you need to do everything in your power to keep yourself healthy. We can help a bit with that &#8211; here are a few tips to get you started. <\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2><b>Keep Yourself In Good Shape<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Let\u2019s begin with a troubling statistic &#8211; according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/cdc-80-percent-of-american-adults-dont-get-recommended-exercise\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">80% of adults don\u2019t get the recommended amount of weekly exercise<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. You need to make sure you\u2019re not one of them. Even when you\u2019re running an event, you need to make sure you\u2019re exercising enough. The World Health Organization has <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.who.int\/dietphysicalactivity\/factsheet_recommendations\/en\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a list of guidelines you can follow to that end<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; have a look, and make time to get the odd workout in. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Avoid Taking Too Many Stimulants (Or Depressants)<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.medicinenet.com\/script\/main\/art.asp?articlekey=43492\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Around 90% of American adults consume caffeine every day<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Although there\u2019s not currently any scientific evidence to support the notion that caffeine addiction is a thing, there <\/span><b>have <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">been studies that link the drug to mood changes, fatigue, drowsiness, irritability, difficulty concentrating, and even a wide range of flu-like symptoms. While it\u2019s probably acceptable to have a coffee in the morning every now and then, you need to avoid taking in too much, as it greatly increases your risk of heart attack or stroke (plus, caffeine has this unfortunate tendency to cause a crash after consumption that sends productivity through the floor). <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Stay Hydrated And Eat Well<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s pretty tempting to spring for fast food while you\u2019re in the midst of running an event &#8211; after all, time is money, and you don\u2019t necessarily have a ton of it to spare, right? That doesn\u2019t mean it\u2019s something you should do, though. Generally speaking, fast food contains way too many calories, way too much salt, way too much sugar, and very little of anything else. <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.healthline.com\/health\/fast-food-effects-on-body\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Even eating a burger every now and then can be absolutely terrible for you<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, according to Healthline.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Take measures to ensure you\u2019re eating right, and keep yourself well-hydrated while you\u2019re on the show floor. Pack your own lunches, take multivitamins <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Find A Way To Manage Your Stress<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some stress can be good for you, especially if you\u2019re the sort of person who thrives on it. \u00a0Too much stress, on the other hand, can put you completely on tilt, making it next to impossible to focus on your work. Make sure you give yourself a chance to unwind every now and then &#8211; carve out some \u2018you\u2019 time that you can use to relax. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe idea of much-needed R&amp;R might seem like an obscure concept,\u201d <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.liveinthegrey.com\/how-to-unwind-when-you-have-a-hectic-schedule\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reads an article by WeWork Magazine<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. \u201cBut rest, relaxation, and fun are integral to avoid burnout and keep you in tip-top shape.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Remember To Sleep<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Last but certainly not least, get enough sleep. This is a rule that plenty of us break way more often than we should &#8211; especially during particularly busy periods. It\u2019s also one of the worst things we can possibly do.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cPulling an all-nighter actually makes your memory less functional,\u201d <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/2013\/09\/30\/all-nighter-risks-science_n_3975789.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">writes Steven Holbrook of The Huffington Post<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. \u201cAnd even if you\u2019re otherwise perfectly healthy, your sleep habits can have adverse effects on your health. According to the Associated Professional Sleep Society, healthy adults that get fewer than six hours of sleep per night are six times more likely to suffer a stroke than their well-rested counterparts.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Get enough sleep &#8211; The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute recommends <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhlbi.nih.gov\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">seven to eight hours in a twenty-four hour period<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Need swag for an upcoming event?
